Navigating SANmanager

SANmanager simplifies and centralizes the configuration and storage allocation of all SANsymphony SAN resources using Windows-based interface tools. SANmanager is the main configuration tool in SANsymphony software . In SANmanager, you can create NMVs and virtual volumes and map the virtual volumes to application servers for use. SANmanager is also where you can configure channels, groups, domains, Snapshot relationships, and AIM sets.  SANmanager consists of the Menu bar and seven tabs.

Starting SANmanager

To start SANmanager from the SANcentral toolbar, click the SANmanager button SANsymphony sanmanagericon Navigating SANmanager. Alternatively, SANmanager can also be opened from the SANcentral Tools menu or from Start>All Programs>DataCore Software.

How the Tab Panes Work…

The tabs consist of left and right panes. In the left pane is an expandable tree comprised of different elements. When you select an element in the tree, you will be provided with associated information in the right pane. The information displayed in the right pane will change depending on the active element selection in the left pane. Information displayed in the right pane is organized in columns with descriptive headers. Be sure to move the bottom scroll bar to the right to view columns which may be hidden from the initial view.

How the Tab Context Menus Work…

Numerous context menus are provided in the tabs. Primarily, context menus are provided by selecting elements in the tree in the left pane and clicking the right (or secondary) mouse button. Context menus may also be provided by selecting certain elements in the right pane. Menu items available are associated with the element selected. In a few cases, context menu items are reached after selecting two different elements in order. (Any 2-step selection process will be numbered where documented.) The same context menu items may also be provided from the menu bar.

How the Configuration Lock Works…
