Removing Disks from NMV Pools

In order to delete a pool, all mappings, virtual volumes, and volumes from that pool must be deleted first.  Refer to Unmapping a Virtual Volume, Deleting a Virtual Volume, or Deleting NMVs, if necessary. If the disk failed, it may be necessary to purge the offline NMVs before removing it, refer to Purging Offline NMVs.

Follow these steps to delete disks from pools:

  1. On the SANmanager Managed Volumes tab, in the left pane, expand the storage server pool folder and select the pool with the disk to be removed.

  2. In the right pane, select the disk to remove and choose Remove Disk from Pool from the context menu. The disk is removed from the pool and returned to the Raw Disk folder.

  3. Apply the configuration change.

If the removed disk was part of a mirrored set, it may be useful to extend the remaining disk. Refer to Extend Disk for details.
