Deleting a Virtual Volume

Deleting a virtual volume erases all volumes at once. The virtual volume is deleted from the Virtual Volume folder, all volumes are marked as “previously used” until the configuration is applied. The data on all volumes is scrubbed and erased.

SANsymphony software prevents deletion of mapped virtual volumes, as well as storage partitions if they are part of a mapped virtual volume. Please refer to Unmapping a Virtual Volume, if necessary.

To delete a virtual volume:

  1. In the Virtual Volume tab of SANmanager, select the virtual volume from the Virtual Volumes folder in the left pane.

  2. Select Delete from the context menu.

  3. Apply the configuration.
