Enabling Path Options on a Mapped Mirror
You may enable Alternate Pathing (AP), 3rd Party AP, MPIO, or Cluster Path after the mirror has been enabled and initialized. To enable these features on the mirror, designate the property on the Virtual Volumes Properties dialog box. Then, apply the new configuration in SANmanager. The application server will then recognize these volumes, mapped from the SANsymphony software, with the characteristics you have specified.
To successfully change from a standard mirror to an AP mirror, the primary volume must be available. If the primary volume has failed in the standard mirror, you cannot enable AP. You should perform a rescan in Disk Management on the application server to recognize the current status of all volumes.
