Sizing a Mirror
Although the volumes comprising a mirror can be different sizes, the mirror is sized according to the size of the smaller volume.
Here are some important rules and recommendations to review:

For more efficient use of disk space, the size of the two volumes should be as close as possible. If you attempt to mirror volumes where the primary virtual volume has not yet been mapped, you will be warned when the secondary volume is smaller than the primary volume.

If the virtual volume is currently mapped, to add a mirror, it must be at least as large as the primary volume.

If you change the size of a virtual volume currently mapped or previously mapped to an application server, you must restart the application server to recognize the new size.

When you delete a previously-mapped virtual volume, the volumes retain the logical size, although the physical size may be different. This protects data written to the volumes from corruption. To revert back to the physical disk size, you can do one of the following:

Delete the volume, and rediscover it.

Make the volume a new linear virtual volume by splitting the mirror. Then, you can change the size of the virtual volume to the size of the physical disk in the Virtual Volumes Properties dialog box.
