Description

Enable NMV Quota

This NMV feature is used to send an event log message when a specified amount of storage has been exceeded by the selected volume. Use this feature to monitor the amount of physical space allotted to the volume. Select the Enable NMV quota check box to enter an amount of storage (MB) for the quota.

The application server may continue to allocate storage units after the quota has been exceeded; however, write errors messages to the Event Log will continue to be generated.

Stop writes if quota exceeded

This NMV feature is used in conjunction with NMV quotas. Select the Stop writes if quota exceeded check box to stop I/O writes to the selected volume when the quota has been reached.

Hot Spare

Use this feature to designate the selected volume as a Hot Spare.  When selected, the volume is reserved for use as a replacement when volumes used in specified virtual volumes fail. When enabled, the volume icon changes to blue for quick identification in the Virtual Volumes tab. Hot spares cannot be part of a virtual volume. For more information, refer to Configuring Hot Spare Replacements.
