Licensing Information

SANsymphony software configurations are governed by license parameters. Every storage server and management console in the SAN must have a unique license.

You will receive license files for new installations of your software, when new licensed SANsymphony software options are purchased, or if you have increased your license limits.

License files will have the name “Company_Name_################.lic” where Company_Name is the name of your company and ################ is the license number. The license number is also used as the storage server serial number (or WWN) in SANsymphony.

SANsymphony software options can be licensed per region or per storage server. Optional features licensed per storage server include AIM, Snapshot, Network Managed Volumes (NMVs), and Proxied Volumes. Limits for SANsymphony-managed storage capacity are licensed per region.

NOTE:  If you approach the limit of your license for the amount of managed storage in your region, you will get a warning message. To set this warning, refer to Storage Capacity License Limits in the Help.

To view license information in the Help, open the About DataCore SANsymphony box in the SANcentral interface or the SDS Properties box in SANmanager.

To discuss the purchase of program options or increased license limits, contact DataCore Sales or a DataCore Authorized Partner ( http://www.datacore.com/partners/partners_solutionproviders.asp).
