Upgrading a Storage Server License

If you purchase new licensed features or increased storage capacity from your DataCore Sales Representative, you should receive a new license file for each storage server. You must upgrade the license in order to use the new features or capacity of the license. No computer restart is required to enable new licensed features.

CAUTION:  The license file that you receive will have the name “Company_Name_################.lic” where Company_Name is the name of your company and ################ is the license number. The license number is also used as the storage server serial number (or WWN) in the SANsymphony product. Each storage server has a unique license number. The serial number for the new license file must match the serial number for the original license file that is being upgraded.

To upgrade the license:
  1. Copy the new license to the storage server or ensure access to the file on the network.

  2. On the storage server being upgraded, open the SANcentral interface.

  3. Choose Upgrade License from the Actions menu.

  4. Browse to the new license file, and click Open. You should receive a message verifying that the license file was successfully updated.

  5. Close and re-open SANmanager to allow the changes to take effect.
