Alarms Tab

The SANcentral Alarm tab presents alarm information about DataCore components on the local and remote computers. When an alarm occurs, it is listed in the right pane of the Alarms tab, along with date, time, description, source, count, and status. The lower-right pane depicts the elements in the SAN. When a problem occurs in an element, the image appears in red, flagged with Attention in red below the element.

Information is updated every minute in the Alarm tab. Therefore, new alarm data may take as long as one minute to show up in the GUI.

Alarm detail for every alarm is included to assist in troubleshooting. To view the details for an alarm, in the upper-right pane, double-click the alarm in the list. Refer to Alarm Detail for more information. Refer to Troubleshooting Alarms for more information about specific alarms.

Alarms can be managed by acknowledging or clearing them. To flag an alarm that you have viewed or are in recognition of, but do not want to delete, it can be acknowledged and maintained in the list for future reference. When you no longer need the alarm information, you can clear the alarms. When you clear an alarm, it is removed from the Alarms list, but not from the Event Log.
