Status Bar Descriptions

Areas of Information in the Status Bar (left to right)

# of Objects

Number of objects currently being displayed.

Status

Status message will be displayed here.

If the local storage server is off-line, the SANcentral interface displays Local Offline in the Status bar. No information is available for that storage server.

Alarms

Will show Check Alarms if any event log messages have been posted.

Service Status Indicators:

  • Yellow Status (Starting, Stopping, or Discovering)

This is a temporary state indicating the system is either starting, stopping, or discovering resources.

While the system is starting, it is discovering resources before servicing storage transactions; otherwise the system is in the process of stopping the Virtualization Services. After a restart of the system, a five minute countdown timer is started to allow for resource discovery. The timer is displayed in minutes and seconds, “Discovering X min X s.”

  • Green Status (Running)

Indicates system is capable of servicing storage transactions. The text next to the button states Running.

The system may be stopped by clicking Stop Virtualization on the Actions menu.

  • Red Status (Stopped)

Indicates system is stopped and not servicing storage transactions. The text next to the button provides more information.

Use the Alarms tab to access more information.

The system may be started by clicking Start Virtualization on the Actions menu.

Region Name

Name of the region in which this storage server resides.

If the storage server is not currently in a region, The SANcentral interface displays Not in Region in the Status Bar. No information is available for that storage server.

Storage Server Name

The name of the current active storage server.
