AIM Set Properties
The Properties dialog box can be used to create an AIM set for a selected source virtual volume and to configure services to be performed automatically. The Properties dialog box only allows a single source to destination assignment. To assign multiple destinations for one source, refer to Creating AIM Sets.
For each source volume, follow these steps on the AIM source server to select the destination site and volume:
-
Navigate to SANcentral>Tools>AIM Source Manager.
-
In the left pane, expand AIM Source Manager and select AIM Source Volumes.
-
In the right pane, select a source volume to configure and choose Properties from the context menu.
-
In the Properties dialog box, in the Configuration area, select the following from the pull-down menus:
-
Destination Server – the name of the storage server used to receive AIM data transfers from the source server.
-
Destination Volume – the name of the virtual volume to be used as the destination of the data transfer.
-
-
In the Automatic Setting area, select Flush, Snapshot, or Default Marker from the Type pull-down menu. Enter Start Time and Interval in the appropriate fields. Refer to Setting Up Services and Commands for more information. (Before sending markers, the associated activity (event or executable file) to be performed on the destination server for “AimMarker” must be defined in AIM Destination Manager, refer to Defining Marker Actions.)
-
Click Apply and then click OK.
The status of Automatic Settings configured for AIM sets can be viewed in the AIM Destination Manager.
After creating AIM sets, new data will automatically be prepared for an AIM transfer. Next, you must synchronize the AIM set. Refer to Initializing AIM Sets.
