Scheduling Transfer Delays
At certain times of the day, you may want to reduce AIM data transfers to preserve throughput for other online operations. By scheduling (or throttling) the AIM transfer, you can set delays between file transfers during specified times of the day. Unscheduled time, by default, is not delayed.
Several transfer delay schedules may be entered. If schedules have time overlaps, the last scheduled time takes top priority.
To schedule a delay during AIM transfers:
-
In AIM Source Manager, select AIM Destination Servers in the console tree.
-
In the right pane, select the appropriate destination server and choose Transfer Schedule from the context menu to open the Transfer Schedule dialog box.
-
The schedule is based on hours and minutes. In the Set Transfer Schedule area, enter the following information:
-
Start time ( hh:mm) – Time when the transfer delays should begin in 24-hour format.
-
Stop Time ( hh:mm) – Time when the transfer delays should end in 24-hour format.
-
Delay (sec) – Number of seconds to delay between each file transfer during the designated time. A maximum of 1800 seconds can be entered.
-
-
Click Add/Edit. The entry will appear in the Transfer Schedule list. Continue making entries as needed.
-
Click OK when entries have all been added.
To change entries, select the entry from the list, make the appropriate changes in the Set Transfer Schedule area and click Add/Edit.
To delete entries, select the entry from the list, and click Delete.
