Automatically Enabling Snapshots

To generate an automated series of AIM requests (sent via markers) from the AIM source server to enable snapshot relationships and create snapshots of the AIM destination virtual volume, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to AIM Source Manager.

  2. In the left pane, select AIM Source Volumes.

  3. In the right pane, select the AIM set, and choose Properties from the context menu.

  4. In the Automatic Setting area, select Snapshot from the Type pull-down menu.

  5. Enter the Start Time (hh:mm) in 24 hour format.

  6. Select the Interval (hr) from the pull-down menu. The interval represents the number of hours between each snapshot request.

  7. Click OK.

A message appears in the Source Log when the snapshot request has been successfully issued.
