Unidirectional Multiple Source to Multiple Destination

SANsymphony aimunidirms md Unidirectional Multiple Source to Multiple Destination

This diagram illustrates a unidirectional Multiple Source-to-Multiple Destination AIM configuration. The storage servers SDS-A and SDS-B are configured as the source servers. Storage servers SDS-C and SDS-D are configured as the destination servers. On SDS-A, changed data from the source virtual volumes VolA1 and VolA2 is collected in the source buffer and asynchronously mirrored over an IP-based connection to the destination buffers on SDS-C and SDS-D, where it is destaged to the associated destination virtual volumes: VolC1and VolC2 on SDS-C; VolD1 and VolD2 on SDS-D. In the same manner on SDS-B, changed data from the source virtual volumes VolB3 and VolB4 is mirrored to SDS-C and SDS-D, where it is destaged to the associated destination virtual volumes: VolC3and VolC4 on SDS-C; VolD3 and VolD4 on SDS-D.

Note: AIM can also be configured to send data over an IP connection in a bidirectional manner.
