Changing Read/Write Access on DP Pools
When virtual volumes are created from Dual Path (DP) volumes, one volume has Read/Write access and if mirrored, the other volume has Read Only access. If it is necessary to change path access, the Read/Write access can be changed from one volume to the other. When access is changed in a volume, the access is also changed for the originating pool. See Pool Status.
To change Read/Write Access on DP pools:
- In order to change the DP pool access, you must have a virtual volume created from the pool. (When creating a new virtual volume, wait for the virtual volume to be in Healthy status.)
- Open the Status tab in the SANcentral interface.
- Select the virtual volume from the list.
- In the lower pane, determine the volume with Read Only access. See the DP Access column.
- Select the volume and choose Switch Dual Path Access to this Volume from the shortcut menu. The access changes for the volumes and for the originating pools.
