Modifying Snapshot Sets

Changing Default Names for Snapshot Sets

Once a snapshot set is created, you can change the default name assigned by the SANsymphony software.

To change the properties of a single snapshot relationship.

  1. Open SANmanager and select the Snapshot tab.

  2. Right-click on a snapshot relationship under the Snapshot Relationships folder in the lower left pane, and choose Properties. You will see the Snapshot Settings dialog box.

  1. You can view the properties of the volume and change the name of the snapshot relationship.

  1. Click OK.

Removing a Source or Destination Virtual Volume from a Set
  • If you remove a source virtual volume from a set, the entire snapshot set will be deleted.

  • If you remove a destination virtual volume from an enabled snapshot set, it results in an incomplete snapshot set and that set will be automatically disabled. After removing the destination and applying the new configuration, you can then replace the destination virtual volume to complete the set and re-enable the set.

To remove a source or destination volume from a snapshot set:

  1. Open SANmanager and select the Snapshot tab.

  2. In the lower-left pane, expand the Snapshot Sets folder for the host storage server and select the snapshot set.

  3. In the lower-right pane,  the source and destination virtual volumes are displayed. Select the virtual volume to remove and choose Remove from Snapshot from the context menu.

  4. Apply the configuration.
