SCSI Ports in Trace Console

SCSI Ports is one of the components of the Trace Console, a tool in SANsymphony Console. Current SCSI port information for the selected port can be viewed in the right pane.

Below is a description of the column information when a specific SCSI port is selected in the SCSI Ports component.

Columns

Description

mm/dd hh:mm:ss:ms

Date (month/day) and time of trace (hours:minutes:seconds:milliseconds).

Source

The name of the SANsymphony component reporting the information.

Severity

Type of message: Error or Informational.

Message

Message log entry.

Context Menu Items

Following are the context menu items available in the SCSI Ports component. Context menus are activated when an element is selected and the appropriate mouse button is clicked. (The context menu items below are also available from the Action menu in the menu bar when the same elements are selected.)

Description

SCSI Port in the console tree

View next messages = clears all existing messages and allows you to view the current and future messages in the right pane.

Delete all messages = deletes all messages for the selected port.

Delete all message for all channels = clears all message for all ports listed in the console tree.

Configure Filters = allows specific information to be captured and viewed in the logs.

Help = opens the Help to the Trace Console topic.

All Tasks>Search string = allows searching for a specific word in the log.

Help = opens the Help to the Trace Console topic.
